Eyes in Gaza
‘Eyes in Gaza’ gives an intimate look through the lens of the photojournalists experiencing the genocide firsthand. As social media remains an important avenue for dissemination and change, we are allowed more than ever a personal account of current events. Each image throughout the exhibition is a segment of the overall story; a moment in time of one of the longest and most complicated conflicts in modern history.
Comprised of selections from the 2023 Lucie Impact Award winners, ‘Eyes in Gaza’ features the photography and instagram feeds of twenty-two photojournalists and press photographers working in the Gaza Strip: Dawoud AboAlkas, Samar Abu Elouf, AbdelHakeem Abu Riash, Mohammed Al Masri, Saher Alghorra, Loay Ayyoub, Motaz Azaiza, Mohammed Baba, Mahmoud Bassam, Mohammed Dahman, Majdi Fathi, Mahmud Hams, Ahmad Hasaballah, Mohammed Jadallah Salem, Suhail Nassar, Haitham Nuralden, Yasser Qudih, Mohammed Talatene, Bashar Taleb, Mohammed Zaanoun, Ahmed Zakot, and Abed Zagout.
In honor of Omar Al-Derawi, 2023 Lucie Impact winner, was killed January 3rd by an Israeli airstrike while in his family home in Al-Zawaida, the central Gaza Strip.
