Unveiling by Isabelle Ha Eav Ruiz

UNVEILING
French photographer Isabelle Ha Eav Ruiz show her work-in-progress « Unveiling », a corpus of works in gum bichromate (19th century technic).
Through processes of addition, subtraction, veiling, and unveiling, Isabelle Ha Eav questions our relationship to landscape, territory, and collective memory.
The Ilissos River runs through the photographic series in various states. Blocked, surviving, sometimes flowing.
Shadows and ghosts roam it.
Bodies appear and emerge from a deep black.
Keramikos flowers rise up.

Isabelle Ha Eav Ruiz (born in 1996, Paris) works with the history of photography exploring the materiality of the image by experimenting with vintage techniques.
Through various subjects, Isabelle Ha Eav transcribes the notions of presence and #absence #imprint#erasure and #memory.
Her work is exhibited in various international art centers and museums (Camille Claudel Museum, Kunst Haus Wien Museum, Siao-Long Cultural Center, etc.).
