The exhibition “Encounters” presents the dispersion of contemporary trends in Greek photography through the dialogue between the works of Yannis Karpouzis, Gogo Ponirakou, Alexandra Riba, and Vangelis Tatsis. The co-curation and co-organisation of the exhibition by the four participants allows each work to be presented separately and in its entirety, while also highlighting the active dialogue within the field of artistic photography in Greece. A dialogue that, while perhaps more lively and fruitful than ever, appears to be extremely limited at the institutional level (major museums, central galleries, magazines, etc.).

Communities
From the indigenous tribes of the Omo Valley and the monastic communities of Palestine, to the urban North, the elderly migrants from the British Commonwealth, and the “invisible” second-generation migrant youth in Greece, the exhibition Communities explores community as a field of relationships, memory, power, and continuous redefinition.
An exhibition about belonging and exclusion, and forms of collective life in a world in constant transformation.

Lucie Scholarship Program & Youth Open Call Exhibition

The Lucie Foundation is proud to present to you the winners and finalists of the Lucie Scholarship and Youth Open Call. These two annual programs are juried competitions open to photographers internationally and judged by the top curators, editors, and photography experts in the field. Not only do these programs help to support the Lucie Foundation and the non-profit work that it does, but it helps to support the professional and emerging artists in need of funding and exposure.

INTERLUDES by Angela Svoronou

We are delighted to announce Interludes (2003–2019), a solo exhibition by Angela Svoronou, opening on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 19:00 to 22:00.

Through her staged portraits, Svoronou captures moments suspended between stillness and motion — intimate, absorptive scenes where everyday people appear immersed in their worlds, unaware of the viewer’s gaze. Her approach, inspired by Jeff Wall’s concept of the “absorptive mode,” transforms ordinary moments into quiet narratives that invite viewers to wander freely within each frame.

Photo Exhibition by Camera Club of the Philippines

The House of Lucie in Athens proudly hosted a remarkable photo exhibition featuring works from the esteemed members of the Camera Club of the Philippines. Running from September 12 to September 30, 2023, the exhibition captivated attendees with its rich array of photographic art, offering a beautiful glimpse into the creativity of Filipino photographers.

Workshop with Isabelle Ha Eav Ruiz & Stéphane Noel

Isabelle Ha Eav Ruiz (France, 1993) and Stéphane Noel (Belgium, 1969) are both artists using old processes of photography, especially gum bichromate, a multi-layer process dating from the 19th century.

They will make a lecture about their works in House of Lucie Athens, in which they will talk about their approach to ancient photography techniques.

This conference will be accompanied by a demonstration of a step of printing with gum bichromate.
