Resistance

‘Resistance’ will be opening at House of Lucie LA on August 29th with a reception from 5:00 – 8:00 PM!

Curated by Sarah Leen, Resistance brings together images from four separate but thematically intertwined urgent issues: the American experience with ICE and migration enforcement, the Iranian uprising, the war in Ukraine, and the ongoing Palestinian struggle for freedom and self-determination. Through photography and visual storytelling, the exhibition examines acts of defiance, survival, and resilience in the face of overwhelmingly oppressive realities. The works presented here reflect the enduring human spirit and the ways individuals and communities continue to resist systems of control while fighting to preserve their dignity and hope.

The Lucie Talks with Lucie Honoree Ami Vitale

Lucie Honoree Ami Vitale, 2022 Humanitarian Award, joined House of Lucie Los Angeles for a special talk titled Wild Hope, where she shared insights into her journey as a photographer and conservation storyteller. Drawing from her experiences traveling across the globe, Ami spoke about documenting wildlife, endangered species, and the communities working to protect them, while reflecting on the power of photography to inspire awareness and change.
